Over the past 7 years we have seen God do some wonderful things through the prayers of many. For many of the churches involved, prayer has gone from being a department of church life to the engine room, powering everything that happens.
Now it is your turn. Below are three easy steps to help you rediscover the extraordinary power of corporate prayer.
Step 1 - Catch the vision
We encourage you to get a copy of Prayers of Many by Mike Betts.
After reading the book, Pete Greig (author and co-founder of the 24-7 Prayer movement), said: “The message of this book is urgently necessary, and it comes from the hand of a seasoned practitioner.”
Using helpful analogies, the book takes you through eight key principles of corporate prayer, including incredibly practical tools and examples that will help you develop a vision for what corporate prayer might look like in your church.
In the book you will be find practical guides for
Setting up a room
Involving children in prayer
Planning for spontaneity
Incorporating fasting and praise times
Creating a good atmosphere and maintaining momentum
…and more!
Step 2 - Be equipped to create a corporate prayer culture
We have developed a simple small group study guide that is based around the Prayers of Many book. It will guide you through the foundational principles of biblical corporate prayer with your leaders and church family.
The 9 session course is based around the chapters in the book giving you practical ways to apply the principles to your setting. Each session includes a personal video from Mike Betts, an engaging and practical application, as well as prayer tips to help you start building a culture of powerful, believing corporate prayer.
Step 3 - Use Our Enough Prayer Model
God has provided us with a model for running exciting and effective prayer meetings. We want to share this with you so you can take everything we have learnt and use it in your context.
The ENOUGH prayer model has a proven track record and will give you a framework to build an engine room of corporate prayer in your church.
