Mike Betts new book the 'Prayers of Many’
Launching at ENOUGH on 15th November.
The ‘Prayers of Many’ looks at why corporate prayer matters biblically, the difference it has made historically, and how to do it practically, using a series of helpful analogies.
In chapter 2, from the story of Elisha in 2 Kings, Mike highlights some important lessons on effective corporate prayer.
“Now bring me a minstrel (musician)” – it is vital that as we gather to pray, we come with worshipping hearts.
“Thus says the Lord, ‘make this valley full of trenches”’ – You have to prepare for God to move, corporate prayer is part of preparing the ground for God to move.
‘You shall not see wind nor shall you see rain, yet that valley shall be filled up with water’ – God promises that He is going to do something supernatural that cannot be explained through the natural or human realms of activity. In approaching prayer we must not be limited in our thinking to only the way our culture thinks; rational, logical and empirical.
